The Ultimate DTF Artwork Preparation Checklist
Please review these guidelines before submitting your first order.
How to Prepare Print-Ready Artwork for DTF Transfers
Learn exactly how to format your files, maximize your margins, and achieve professional direct-to-film results. Our printing process is precise—we print exactly what you submit, without alterations. Submitting a clean file guarantees a retail-quality DTF transfer, whereas low-quality graphics yield a trash print.
Our Partnership: I supply the commercial printing equipment, premium transfer film, and pigment ink. You supply the perfectly formatted artwork. Bring me your best designs, and we will print something legendary.
DTF Artwork Requirements
Check your file before you order. Follow these DTF file setup rules for vibrant, print-ready transfers.
1. PNG. Transparent. Only.
Upload your art as a transparent PNG. No JPEGs, no screenshots, no checkered backgrounds baked into the file.
2. 300 DPI at Actual Size
Don't design small and stretch it later. If the design is 10 inches wide, build it at 10 inches wide (or larger!) from the start.
3. Stay in RGB
Our printers run wide-gamut ink. CMYK files dull your colors down. Keep it RGB to keep it vibrant and bright.
4. The 300% Zoom Test
Zoom in on your screen to 300%. If the edges look fuzzy, pixelated, or "melty," they will look terrible on cotton. Clean edges = Clean prints.
